Introduction

The undergraduate curriculum in Recreation, Park and Tourism Sciences at Texas A&M University provides students with an education in recreation, park and tourism sciences, and community development. Students study both the social and life sciences in order to understand and manage the use of natural and cultural resources for recreation and tourism. Course work emphasizes problem-solving skills, international perspectives, and the application of scientific principles to managerial problems.

To accomplish its objectives, the department has assembled an outstanding faculty, developed state-of-the-art computer facilities, undertaken exciting new research initiatives and created courses of study that will prepare students as leaders for the 21st century.
