What are the Advantages of a Tourism Planning Committee ?

As an association of community representatives, the planning committee helps evaluate the costs and benefits of tourism for different sectors of the economy (i.e. commercial, public, non-profit).  The committee will ensure that a wide range of ideas and interests of community groups, as well as the general public, are considered in the tourism planning process.

In having a wide range of persons from the community, the committee will keep important groups informed about new tourism initiatives.  Each member should communicate with the groups he or she can most effectively reach.  This will help to educate the public.
