Research & Application Interests:

Ecotourism as a tool for conservation and economic development. I am very interested in the requirements for financially successful operations on private land at all scales. I am also very interested in the use of ecotourism as an element of community development and how public-private partnerships can benefit public land management and private enterprise.

I focus on practical applications for tourism as a tool to improve quality of life through economic gain and conservation. In particular I am interested in agricultural diversification ie agritourism, ecotourism, nature tourism, wildlife & nature photography, hunting, fishing & adventure operations.
As a specialist in Nature Tourism for Texas AgriLIFE Extension I work to serve citizens of Texas through educational presentations, training workshops, publications and support of Texas Cooperative Extension county agents in each of our 254 Counties. I also work to assist in the development & implementation of national and international programs. I am available to conduct presentations, lead educational programs and tours, perform consulting & specialized training.
