According to a study from the Outdoor Industry Association, nature-based tourism has a large national economic footprint (please note that the numbers below reflect national totals):

• $730 billion contributed annually to the U.S. economy
• Over 6 million industry-related jobs
• $46 million in gear retail sales
• $243 million in trip-related sales
• $87 million in federal and state taxes
