Opportunity for PhD for Under-represented Minorities

 

Applications are invited from prospective graduate student to pursue PhD studies at the Department of Recreation, Park and Tourism Sciences, Texas A&M University

 

Eligibility:

  • Must be a minority (African-American, Hispanic or American Indian) US citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Graduate background in Natural Sciences or some combination of natural and social sciences

 

Scholarship Amount: One time support of US$ 30,800

 

Topics of interests (but not limited to):

  • Ecological impacts of visitor activities in parks and protected areas
  • Human-Wildlife conflict in recreational and tourism settings
  • Environmental impacts of tourism in natural areas

 

 


    

 

Graduate students with disciplinary training in geography, forestry, wildlife management, environmental sciences/studies are especially encouraged to apply. GIS skills and interdisciplinary research interests are highly desirable.
